Short-Term Fixes Will Not Change the Role You Are Still Playing

The pressure will keep returning until the leadership pattern changes.

You may already have tried to protect more time, delegate more work, improve the team, or put better systems in place. Those changes can be useful, and in the right context they matter, but they do not solve the deeper issue. If the way you lead has not evolved, the pressure often returns in a different form.

The firm may still look to you for the final answer, the safest judgment, the difficult conversation, or the standard everyone else is trying to meet. Even when you step back, you may find yourself pulled back in because the firm has learned to operate around your availability, responsiveness, and personal involvement.

That is why the next stage is not just about taking tasks off your plate. It is about looking at the role you keep returning to and understanding how that role shapes the way the firm thinks, decides, grows, and depends on you.

“The firm cannot evolve beyond the role you keep returning to.”

12-month coaching gives you the space and support to examine that over time. The work goes beyond what you do each week and looks more closely at how you think, decide, respond, lead, and define your value inside the firm.

This matters because the patterns that keep you too central are often not obvious from inside the day-to-day. They can show up in how quickly you step in, how long you hold onto decisions, how much responsibility you carry for other people’s performance, or how closely your identity is still tied to being the person who solves everything.

This is sustained coaching for law firm founders and managing partners who are ready to stop treating the symptoms and begin changing the leadership role that keeps recreating them. Over 12 months, you have the space to do the deeper work, build new leadership patterns, and lead the firm from a clearer CEO position.

How the 12-Month Partnership Works

Sustained Coaching for Deeper Leadership Change

Over 12 months, I work with you directly in a coaching partnership designed to give us the time, space, and continuity to understand what keeps repeating inside the firm. The work is focused on your vision, leadership, decisions, growth, and the role you now need to play as CEO.

We meet bi-weekly for coaching sessions, with asynchronous support available between sessions through text or email. That means the work does not only happen during scheduled calls. As patterns show up inside the firm, we have space to examine them, respond to them, and continue refining how you lead in real time.

The partnership also draws on proprietary frameworks including RISE™, the Energy Leadership Index, and the Founder’s Evolution Framework™. These give structure to the work without turning it into a rigid program, that lets us look at who you are, what you want, what is keeping you too central, and how your leadership needs to evolve for the next stage of the firm.

Work Directly With John R. Kormanik

A coach who understands both the practice of law and the responsibility of leading the firm.

I bring the perspective of a former attorney, law firm owner, and professional coach who understands the complexity of leading a successful firm while still carrying too much of its weight.

In a 12-month coaching partnership, we work together over time, which gives the relationship space to move beyond surface issues and into the thinking, decisions, and leadership habits shaping your role inside the firm.

The work is private, direct, and personal. It is designed for law firm leaders who are ready to think more clearly, lead more deliberately, and continue evolving as CEO.
